I hope you a beautiful Christmas with your loved ones are enjoying winding down 2012.

With such warm weather at this time of year I always struggle with what to wear on Christmas day and to all of the functions that are happening at this time of year.  Sometimes I just don’t feel like wearing a summery dress but never feel as though I have another option.  It’s just too darn hot!

But this year, I decided to take a risk and wear pants.  Not ordinary pants mind you, these pants are made from beautiful Bemberg-Modal fabric comprising of 50% Organic Cotton and 50% Beechwood.  The yarn is Oeko-Tek Certified and the dyes are G.O.T.S certified.

What this all means is that these pants are just like silk pants – they look and feel like gorgeous super soft silk but they are EVEN BETTER!  They breathe really well, they didn’t crease (and I was driving for about 5 hours on Christmas day) and they are just so light and comfy that it honestly felt like I was just walking around in my knickers.

I’m so excited to have found this alternative to silk because I do like the look and feel of silk, I just can’t handle that thousands of silk worms are boiled or steamed alive to make just 1 pound of silk (for more info on this see my recent article here).  It seems so ridiculous and unnecessary to kill so many animals, particularly when there are such beautiful alternatives!

Sinerji also have some beautiful maxi-dresses and cute shorts in this fabric so head on over to their online store to check them out.  Thanks to the gorgeous Sinerji girls, Alice and Louise for the beautiful pants and for going to such great lengths to ensure that people, the planet and animals are taken care of in your work.
