Heyyy! 

I graduated from the Beautiful You Coaching Academy in 2014. Woah. Six years ago! And it’s been a very special six years. So I wanted to share a new video for you, in case you’re also thinking about becoming a life coach. The last time I recorded a review video for the training was back in 2015 and a lot’s changed!

A little about me in case you’ve stumbled across this in a google search of every graduate you could find of BYCA (I’m a bit like that too when considering a new course so good on you for researching!)….

I’m the founder of Shine From Within which I started in 2012. We support teens/tweens and the adults around them to truly shine from within through events, a best-selling book by the same name (out with Hay House worldwide), a school curriculum, 1:1 coaching and mentoring, an award-winning online youth mentor training for adults wanting to support youth and a new teen online academy (because, you know, Covid-19 happened!). I’m also a co-host of the Gentle Business Mastermind because I really love supporting folks in the early stages of business to ‘ditch the hustle’ and build a sustainable business that lights them up.

I decided to start Shine from Within after a 2 year battle with stage 4 cancer in my mid-20’s. It fuelled a transformation and a desire to support others (and in particular young people) to live their best life, look after themselves and make the most of each moment. I also wanted to create a life that I loved showing up for each and every day (which at first felt incredibly selfish!).

Since graduating from Beautiful You, I’ve had some pretty incredible highlight moments in my business and life:

  • Published my first book with Hay House (Shine from Within; a teen’s guide to life).
  • Won Best Program of the Year for the Youth Mentor Training (BYCA International Coaching Awards) 2017.
  • Won Best Book/Podcast of the Year for Shine From Within; a teen’s guide to life (BYCA International Coaching Awards) 2019.
  • Appeared in lots of media including The Today Show (Channel 9) and Today Tonight (Channel 7); being mentioned as a ‘game-changer’ in The Collective magazine and being a regular columnist for Nature & Health Magazine.
  • I’ve spoken to audiences big and small all around Australia, including as a guest at one of the BYCA Inspiration Days and alongside Beautiful You’s fearless leader, Julie Parker at the Soulpreneurs Conference (both events are pictured).  
  • I’ve been able to create a flexible life that’s allowed me to rest when I need to (something that’s very important to me after such a big health battle) while still feeling incredibly fulfilled.
  • I’ve met the most wonderful people and feel very grateful that I get to collaborate with some of my best friends, connect and support each other in our business endeavours (and life).
  • And I get to donate to causes I feel passionate about and continue to build social justice, climate action and giving back into the fabric of my business.

Now that’s not to say that this was all due to Beautiful You. I already had an established business by the time I did the training and of course a training program alone won’t help you achieve a thing if you don’t actually implement what you’re taught. But it expanded my support network, elevated the way I show up in the world and in my work, and gave me more confidence and skills when it came to 1:1 coaching and mentoring. And for those folks who don’t have a business yet, it gets you set up and ready to start coaching. I’ve seen so many coaches come through and have loved getting to work with them long after they graduate (either through any of the bonuses I offer as an affiliate if you sign up through me – see below – or because quite a few BYCA coaches then come and do my Youth Mentor Training too) and they truly do love the training, flourish in their business and are constantly surprising themselves as they reflect on that moment long ago when they were pondering whether or not to do it.

This is perfect if you want to focus on coaching teens and need to learn about engaging with young people, duty of care, running events for teens and the marketing and business aspects of working in the youth space (from mother-daughter retreats to school workshops to holding space online for teens). The training is AUD$1999 and the affiliate bonus that I receive will cover half. 

Most choose to work 1:1 with me as this is a rare opportunity to have hours of 1:1 support (I charge quite a bit more for my 1:1 consults and coaching so this is a wonderful deal – especially considering it won’t cost  you anything more than your BYCA enrolment!).
